What the Primaries are Telling Us
As I watch the results of the various primaries come and go, I feel even more concerned with the direction we are headed. I’m not sure we even have a vision of the future. We seem to be focused on the present and on our own petty little problems. I am also becoming more and more dismayed with the direction the Christian right seems to be taking.
I consider myself to be pretty far right and I consider myself to be a Christian… a poor Christian, but still a Christian. As with most people of my faith, I often question myself and my frequent lapses of faith. My mother raised me to be a good Christian, but I fail in this department on a regular basis. But… common sense tells me that no one is perfect and we should see the good in people and weigh the good against the not-so-good. Yes, there is that old saying that two wrongs do not make a right, but we must be careful to differentiate character flaws that we all have against what we consider as bad. We dare not judge a person for a few indiscretions unless we are prepared to judge ourselves in the same manner.
